Our Clients often ask: Have you ever found anything crazy in a dryer vent before??
Lint Guardian Dryer Vent Cleaners & More
Well… this customer’s dryer vent cleaning turned into a surprise maternity ward.
These little tenants decided the dryer vent was the perfect place to start a family. While it may seem cute, bird nests inside dryer vents can seriously
restrict airflow and create dangerous lint buildup and fire hazards.
Not to worry, the nest & eggs were safely relocated nearby so mama bird and babies could continue nesting safely away from the vent
system.
If your dryer is taking forever to dry clothes, smells hot, or hasn’t been cleaned in years… you may have more than lint living in your vent line.
The More You Know:
Dryer Vent Screens
Screens on dryer vent terminations may seem helpful, but they trap lint and block airflow. This photo was taken at one of our calls last
week. You can see there are nests & Lint blocking air flow.
Under the Florida Building Code, screens are not allowed because they can lead to clogs, poor efficiency, and increased fire risk.
Best practice: use a proper vent hood with no screen so air and lint can exit freely.
Pet owners this one’s for you!
Did you know pet hair can quickly build up inside your dryer vent?
Even if you clean the lint trap regularly, pet fur and lint can still collect deep inside the vent line. Over time,
this buildup can reduce dryer efficiency and even create a fire hazard.
Trust us, we know! Not only are we professionals with over 13 years of experience, we’re pet owners too. This is our puppers Lowie, an American Bully, and boy does she shed!
Pet hair like hers can easily make its way into your dryer vent.
Homes with pets often benefit from annual or even bi-annual dryer vent cleaning to keep things running safely and efficiently.
